Sangeet

This week I got the honour of attending a sangeet for one of my besties wedding. It was truly incredible to experience a different culture and ceremony. Everyone was all dressed up in colourful saris and jewelry, the food was out of this world delicious and the bride to be bought a tear to my eye. Here are a few photos from the evening.

 

 

 The groom is welcomed by dancing and music. A prayer is said before the groom enters, the bride must hide in the house,  the groom must then answer a series of questions at the front door by all the girls and then pay a price before he can enter. Below is a picture of all the girls waiting in the house while the groom arrives.
