Just finished watching My Girl and My Girl 2, the weather has been so uninspiring lately and I felt like a need for a blast from the past. I forgot how completely mesmerizing the story is. Vada has got to be one of the most likeable characters and how could anyone forget her bestie Thomas J (played by Macaulay Culkin). I also really loved how it is set in the 70's in Pennsylvania and it's summertime! Bike rides, swims in the river, friendship, nostalgia, nostalgia.
I won't go into it too much but I will share some of my fave quotes from My Girl so I can hopefully inspire someone who hasn't seen it in ages to watch it again.
Vada- "Why do you think people want to get married?"
Thomas .J- " When you get old you just have to."
Vada- "Get outta here. And don't come back for five to seven days".
Vada- "Pacifist".
Thomas. J- "Am not".
Vada- "Bed wetter".
Thomas .J- "I stopped that".
Vada (My Girl 2)- "Are you suffering from a chemical imbalance, or is it just an attitude problem?"
Vada (My Girl 2)- "Life is full of barbaric customs, but I hope they all end with a kiss like that".
